Favorite Things

These are a few of my favorite things (in no particular order). While reading this, if you break out in song pretending you’re Julie Andrews dancing on some majestic mountain in Austria, you are my person.

  • Writing (duh)
  • Books that ruin you. Coffee sprays out of your nose from laughing so hard and you cry yourself to sleep.
  • Libraries
  • The smell of old, musty books
  • Typewriters
  • All types of coffee, but black is obviously the best, especially if you drink two pots a day like I do.
  • Cherry blossoms (I need to visit Japan in early April).
  • Low maintenance friends
  • Unique names
  • The crisp smell of rain
  • Hiking
  • Pizza
  • Orchids
  • Trips via train
  • Snowy days (I’d be happy in Westeros; I hate the summer and the bloodsuckers that come with it).
  • Stephen King
  • George R.R. Martin
  • Dan Brown
  • Sunsets
  • Travel; I want to see every country (I could live in Ireland).
  • Long braids
  • The Stairmaster Stepmill
  • A-line skirts/dresses
  • Daily bitmoji convos with Momma bear
  • Tiger lilies
  • Rose gold
  • The dimple in my husband’s chin. It inspired me to hit on him in the first place. Later, I asked him to marry me; see ABOUT for more on that story.
  • Volcanoes
  • Wedges
  • Movie scores that rip emotions from you
  • James Horner (may he rest in peace; I bawled when he passed).
  • Thomas Newman
  • Crop tops
  • Waterfalls
  • Dark chocolate (especially lavender or espresso flavored).
  • Dark chocolate covered espresso beans
  • Fall in NY
  • Tiffany blue/mint
  • Flying pigs
  • Bubble baths/hot tubs
  • Shakespeare
  • Anything sparkly
  • Cowboy boots
  • Candles (especially lavender or espresso scented).
  • Celtic music
  • Dry wine/champagne/prosecco
  • Lavender anything
  • Michael Flatley and Lord of the Dance
  • Cheese (especially lavender or espresso flavored).
  • Eating Fruity Pebbles just so I can drink the sugary-crack-addicting milk afterward
